before everyone sharpens the pitchforks, think about what that clause is actually guarding. without it excluding becomes a free roll - exclude yourself, play anyway, keep the wins, claim the losses back as their fault. id be through that gap before you finished reading it and so would half this...

nothing stops her. what changes is that the offshore site has no brazilian licence, no local complaints route, and now no legal payment rail into it either. so she'd be funding it through crypto or a card that may or may not work, with no recourse at all. that's strictly worse than what she had...

ok that's a good point and i'm not going to pretend it isn't my objection is narrower. the people who stop are the casual ones while people who route around it are the heavy ones, and the heavy ones were the harm you were trying to reach

nobody in brazil is going to stop betting on thursday. they're going to stop betting legally on thursday that's not me being glib, it's the only prediction in this whole thread you can make with any confidence. sweden did it, norway does it, the states did it before 2018. demand doesn't...

get an actual accountant, not a forum. i mean that properly and not as a brush off there are choices about filing status and professional treatment that change this materially and none of us should be the one telling you which. if you're genuinely looking at owing on a losing year that's worth...

books file the W2Gs whether you report or not. the irs already has the winnings side. what you're describing isn't hiding income, it's declining to claim deductions against income they can already see. it's strictly worse than filing

it's my income so i'll declare the interest up front. for a professional this isn't a tax change, it's a change to whether the job exists. take a grinder turning over serious volume at a thin edge. the 10% disallowance can exceed the entire annual profit. you don't get taxed on your winnings...

funniest part is kalshi caught it themselves, froze his account and reported him to the CFTC. which is genuinely the exchange doing surveillance properly, and it lands in the same week a court says they're not really an exchange at all

well the part that actually matters for anyone here and nobody's mentioned - pricing is different exchange charges a fee and matches you against another user. a sportsbook prices in a margin and takes the other side itself. on a two way market that difference shows up as real basis points, which...

sometimes. and you find out which one it was at the withdrawal screen

and that's the thread in one line! 450% offer isn't generosity, it's a signal. it says the operator needs deposits badly enough to buy them at a price a stable business wouldn't pay. treat the size of an offer as a risk indicator rather than a benefit and you'll be right more often than you're...

and there's the actual lesson, arriving 44 posts in from the bloke who started it 🦊 cross three sources, look for bad news surviving on the page, check the parent not the brand, treat anything under a year old as untested. that's it. there isn't a fifth thing

looking from the outside, the thing i'd point at is that both of these landed in the same three weeks and one of them is a lever for you and the other is friction against you, and the friction is the one everybody's actually experiencing @geordiecolin isn't angry about deposit limits. he's...

no cap, no weighting, and no eight week deadline either. the whole of @sufferinsilence's problem here is that he got £150 he wasn't happy with. on an unlicensed site the version of this story ends with £0 and a support ticket not saying don't. saying know which problem you're choosing

that's the MaxBet.rs case and it's real, but "a fella you know" is doing some heavy lifting there paul it did happen and the detail people should take from it is the one you mentioned second, not first. the terms didn't clearly define a maximum bet threshold at all. they applied a rule that...

steady on he's not wrong that the incentives point one way. you're not wrong that they still have to show their working. both things are true and nobody has to lose

folder of screenshots is the tell mate, i've had that folder. mine was 2019 and it turned out i was just bad at blackjack on the actual question though, pool integrity is one of the more genuinely policed corners of this industry, precisely because it's pari-mutuel. everyone in the pool can see...

hunter becomes the hunted and all that. couldn't resist, sorry market cared though, BET popped about 33% on the announcement. 24 cents cash, and the premium depends entirely which outlet you read because they all picked a different reference price. i've seen 41, 45 and a half, and one that just...

worth understanding what the exemptions tell you, because they're more informative than the headline. horse racing stays at 15%. self service terminals inside a licensed shop stay at 15% because they aren't classed as remote. Bingo duty was 10% and has been abolished outright. Casino floor duty...

exactly @nataly.k that's structural problem. dual-currency model was designed to avoid being classified as gambling for regulatory purposes. the entire point was to sit outside the gambling framework. consequence players are discovering now is that sitting outside the gambling framework also...
